Duration: 3 Months (with the possibility of full-time employment based on performance)

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer with strong experience in developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress websites and plugins. The ideal candidate should be proficient in PHP, have a deep understanding of WordPress core, and possess hands-on experience in website and server security. You will be responsible for building scalable solutions, optimizing performance, and ensuring secure and stable deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites and custom plugins
• Write clean, secure, and optimized PHP code following WordPress coding standards
• Customize themes and create custom themes from scratch when required
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, CRMs, and marketing tools
• Ensure website security, including protection against malware, vulnerabilities, and hacking attempts
• Implement security best practices such as:
  • Secure authentication and authorization
  • Regular updates and patching
  • Firewall and malware scanning
• Manage and secure server environments (shared, VPS, or cloud hosting)
• Optimize website performance, speed, and scalability
• Debug issues related to WordPress core, plugins, themes, and server configurations
• Work closely with designers, marketers, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Maintain documentation for custom development and security implementations

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a WordPress Developer
• Strong expertise in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Extensive experience in custom WordPress plugin development
• Deep understanding of WordPress hooks, actions, filters, and REST APIs
• Experience with WordPress security practices and tools (e.g., Wordfence, Sucuri, custom hardening)
• Knowledge of server-side security, SSL, backups, firewalls, and access control
• Familiarity with hosting environments (Apache/Nginx, cPanel, AWS, or similar)
• Experience with Git/version control systems
• Understanding of SEO, performance optimization, and caching mechanisms
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Good to Have

• Experience with WooCommerce customization
• Knowledge of Elementor, Gutenberg, or other page builders
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
• Experience in handling high-traffic WordPress websites
• Basic knowledge of Linux server administration
